How it works

Valsartan blocks angiotensin II receptors, reducing blood vessel constriction and lowering blood pressure.
Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that relaxes vascular smooth muscles and improves blood flow.
Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic that removes excess salt and water from the body, reducing blood volume and lowering blood pressure.

Usage And Safety

Dosage

One tablet daily, preferably in the morning.
Dose may be adjusted after 2 weeks based on response. Maximum dose should be as directed by physician.

Side Effects

May include dizziness, headache, fatigue, low blood pressure, electrolyte imbalance (low potassium, sodium), increased uric acid, changes in blood sugar, swelling, and irregular heartbeat.

Drug Interactions

May interact with potassium supplements, lithium, NSAIDs, CYP3A4 inhibitors/inducers, diuretics, antihypertensives, alcohol, and certain heart or diabetes medicines.

Indication

Used for treatment of essential hypertension in adults.

When not to Use

Not suitable in severe liver disease, biliary cirrhosis, cholestasis, pregnancy (2nd & 3rd trimester), or hypersensitivity to any component.

Precautions

Use with caution in kidney artery stenosis, dehydration, or salt depletion. Kidney function and electrolytes should be monitored regularly.

Warnings

May cause severe low blood pressure in dehydrated patients. Can affect kidney function and fetal development during pregnancy. Requires medical supervision in high-risk patients.
